Last raya, I had the opportunity to visit a chicken nursery owned by my late uncle 'Paklong'. This poultry was founded by Paklong himself and still operating by his family members. This poultry is operating for clients such as KFC/Ayamas Holdings. Its located somewhere deep in the woods of Kuala Nerang Kedah. Its a known fact that a poultry must be located at least a few miles range within any house or residential area.
I was there to witness the about 50 000 chicken. I really am bad in math but I could assure you that there were so many chicken that I think I got hungry.(just kidding). I was there with my cousin Abg Ali. He asked me whether I would like to see the poultry since he was sending Kuih Raya for the staff there. I said yes, why not.. It would be an interesting trip so I brought my camera.
The trip to the poultry really brings back memories. I still remember when my late Paklong brought me there to help him upload the first batch of chicken for the poultry. I was there helping him unloading the chicken by taking it from the truck and uploading it. I accidentally stepped on one of the baby chicken. It was crying so loud that I could not help but feel a bit ashamed of myself for accidentally stepping on it. I carried the little chick to the water and food and fed it with my hands. But the chicken died on my palm. I felt bad that day. I didnt tell my Paklong about the little chick that I killed. I was worried getting more headaches to him because during that time my Paklong was busy with other things to think of.
Sometimes some places can remind you of certain someone that means a lot to you. Alfatihah.
