This reminds me of the old saying, sangkakan panas sampai ke petang. hujan di tengah hari. It goes something like thatlah. No worries, its the end of the year, of course the weather is like this. But this is the opportunity to hunt for rainbows or even sunrays in between clouds. yeahh..

Its been a few days already going out early in the morning to take pictures of sunrise. But the sun didnt come out until 8 Oclock and it stays behind the clouds. Hmm... No sun rays and it even started to rain a little. Now as for sunset, the same thing happen. It will start to rain every 5 PM.

Buy or Sell

I was thinking, which is more important? the power to buy or the power to sell? imagine this situation. We have person A who have the money to buy a lot of things from company A to Z. (person A is rich) another situation is that we have company B that could and attract sales to person A to Z. say, good products or marketing that people will want to use product from company B.
So my question is, which is better. To have the ability to buy or ability to sell? hmm..

Oh yeah, by the way.. photo above taken near my house in Putri jaya, Kedah. During sunrise on camera's back. increased a bit of saturation to get the green grass to be green. Dont know whether this is ok or not.

Portraits

Been trying some portraits with my housemate. Nothing interesting, just bouncing-bouncing the flash. But we tried to bring in some concepts so it wouldnt look like snapshots. So here it is. PP in lightroom to increase contrast and to decrease saturation.. er, trying to get that mood. Brightness also increased to create somekind of hi-key effect.
Editing is not photography as some says it time and again. But what to do, not enough experience and equipments yet. But Im sure learning stuff during post processing will improve future shooting. For the future I plan to do less PP like everyone else. For the time being, its fun and essential too..
Really need to learn all these stuff this holiday insyallah. insyallah.

backhoe the backlight

The photo above was taken during sunset somewhere near sungai petani. To take pictures of sunset, there's no right or wrong. Its just more of a personal taste. like the subject here was taken by having the sun as the background. So if you want to meter easily, you could use the matrix evaluative metering in auto priority and just snap away. Or ... you could use spot or center weightage metering to meter both the bright background and the dark subject and take the exposure as you like it.
In this situation, I use manual priority where I could control both aperture and shutter the way I like it. So, I use the spot metering and meter the sky to get it well exposed. I metered the sky but I didnt meter the sun, as this will make my photo to be underexposed. After metering the sky, I meter the dark subject and tried to expose it correctly. but of course, I adjust the meter in between the 'correctly exposed subject' and 'correctly exposed sky'. So, the result is this.
On the post processing part, I use the lightroom to increase the saturation as I would like my photo to be in that kind of mood this time. This could be adjusted before shooting on my camera. But I prefer to do it in my computer, so again, this is a matter of personal taste.
Why am I sharing these basic stuff? well, sometimes we tend to not know these things and shy away from asking others. So maybe by sharing a little of my basic exposure tricks, some people could benefit from it or they could comment and correct me for me to learn more on it. These stuff could be read in most photography books. Just google for it.
exposure for digital and film is different, I am still studying on that. It has something to do with correcting the highlights VS saving the shadows. Maybe if I understand later in the future I could share with you guys.
